WHAT IS THE FRANKINTON NIGHT MARKET AND WHERE IS IT HELD?

The Franklinton Night Market is a family-friendly open-air community event hosted monthly along McDowell Street & Walnut Street in the Franklinton neighborhood of downtown Columbus. Each night market features nearly 80 independent local vendors & food trucks each month selling merchandise, art, clothing, and food and featuring small-scale entertainment for all ages. We close down McDowell St (including W Walnut St) between W Town St and W Rich St for our community Night Market so you can enjoy an OPEN STREET event with a pop-up beer garden. Plus, many Franklinton businesses will be open late for each event, including Wild Goose Creative, BrewDog, Strongwater, Land-Grant, and more! View our 2024 Site Map

IS THERE AN ENTRY FEE?

There is no entry fee! Each Franklinton Night Market is free to attend and all are welcome!

ARE THESE DOG-FRIENDLY EVENTS?

Yes, each Franklinton Night Market is very dog friendly. In fact all leashed and friendly pets are welcome! But we do ask that you keep in mind how hot the streets/sidewalks can get during the summer months! Before you leave the house, put your hand on asphalt that's in the direct sun. If it's too warm on your hand, it's too hot for their paws.

WHERE CAN I PARK?

The Franklinton Arts District offers hundreds of free and paid parking options including ADA accessible spaces and electric charging stations. The River & Rich parking garage (260 Mc Dowell St) is only one block south of W Rich St and has several hundred parking spaces. We encourage COTA bus and rideshare options (Lyft, Uber, CoGo), and for those who are able, you can walk, bike, or carpool too!

I AM AN ARTIST/MUSICIAN/BAND AND I WOULD LIKE TO PERFORM AT THE HOP. WHAT IS THE PROCESS?

We try to book as many live music acts & artists as we can each month! We do this exclusively through the Greater Columbus Arts Council’s Community & Street Performer/Music Everywhere program! Sign up for their artists database for more info.

I WOULD LIKE TO HELP! ARE YOU IN NEED OF ADDITIONAL VOLUNTEERS?

Yes! We are always on the lookout for amazing volunteers who want to help support this monthly community event series. Volunteers assist our event staff in greeting pop-up vendors, event set-up, event tear-down, and more. All Franklinton Night Market volunteers will receive an Event Staff tee, a beer ticket for the event(s) you volunteer (if you are 21+), and our eternal gratitude. Email us the date(s) you’re able to volunteer and whether you're interested in Shift #1 (4-6pm) or Shift #2 (8-10pm) or both!

WHO IS ORGANIZING ALL OF THIS? DO YOU HAVE OTHER SIMILAR EVENTS AROUND TOWN?
Franklinton Night Markets are managed/hosted by the Columbus Young Professionals (CYP) Club, in collaboration with Wild Goose Creative, Franklinton Board of Trade, Franklinton Special Improvement District, Greater Columbus Arts Council, and BBB of Central Ohio. The CYP Club hosts more than 150 events each year, including co-recreational sports leagues, volunteer projects, leadership development programming, and more.
